SEASIDE, Calif. -- The Sonoma State baseball team closed out its 2015 season with a wild affair that saw the Seawolves connect for four home runs and build a lead, only to see Cal State Monterey Bay rally before eventually walking off with an 8-7 win. The Seawolves finish their 17-23 in the CCAA and 23-27 overall. The Otters go to 27-13 in the conference and 32-18 overall.
Sonoma State's first four runs all came via the long ball as
Alex Crosby hit a solo home run (his 4th) in the first,
Brandon Baranzini (his 1st) hit another solo shot in the second, and
Adam Manzer hit a two-run shot (his 4th) to make it 4-0. It was Manzer's second home run in consecutive days and third in seven games. After
Eric Ehlow hit a two-run single in the fourth to make it 6-1,
Devin Alexander put a pitch over the right field wall (his 2nd) in the sixth inning to give the Seawolves a 7-3 lead.
Unfortunately, the Seawolves weren't able to hold off the Otters in the later innings and went down to defeat.
Crosby led the Seawolves in hits with three in five plate appearances. Alexander, Ehlow and Baranzini all had two hits.
Cody Bennett got the loss (1-1) after giving up the game-winning single in the ninth inning.
Christian Stubbs got the win (2-3) for the Otters. Chris Blanton and Hayden Duer each had two RBI's for the offense.
