SKILLMAN, N.J.-  The Sonoma State men's tennis team has been honored as April's recipient of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Natinoal Team Sportsmanship Award.  The ITA National Team Sportsmanship Award is a monthly award that goes out to one men's and one women's team that has exemplified outstanding sportsmanship, character and ethical conduct in the true spirit of competition and collegiate tennis.

The Seawolves hope to celebrate again next weekend in Chico

ROHNERT PARK, Calif-  The seedings for the 2008 NCAA West Regional Tournament were announced late on Sunday night and, as expected, Sonoma State will enter the event as the No. 1 seed.  The tournament starts on Thursday and will be held at Nettleton Stadium in Chico.

The Seawolves have won back-to-back CCAA titles

CHICO, Calif-  Sonoma State capped their improbable run through the 2008 CCAA Championship on Saturday with a 7-4 win over Chico State in game two of Sunday's exciting championship doubleheader.  It is the second straight CCAA title for the Seawolves and the fifth in ten years since joining the conference, in 1999.  The win gives the Seawolves (46-13) momentum heading into the NCAA West Regionals, to be held next week.

CHICO, Calif-  Ian Bridges singled home Kris Haycock with the winning run in the bottom of the ninth as Sonoma State beat Chico State 4-3 to force a second and final championship game for the CCAA title.  The Seawolves trailed 3-2 entering the ninth before clutch hitting and base running led to yet another comeback in this incredible conference tournament.

CHICO, Calif-  After last night's thrilling 13-11 win over Cal State Stanislaus, the Seawolves will be taking on Chico State at noon today at Nettleton Stadium.  The Seawolves will need to beat the Wildcats twice to capture their fifth CCAA title.  Chico needs just one win for the crown.  The game(s) will be available via webcast.

CHICO, Calif-  In one of the most incredible games you could ever hope to see, Sonoma State got tremendous performances from Nick Nosti and Konrad Thieme to shock Cal State Stanislaus, 13-11, at the CCAA Championship Tournament at Nettleton Stadium in Chico.  The win puts the Seawolves into the championship game against Chico State.  The Seawolves and Wildcats will meet at noon on Saturday with SSU needing two wins to claim their fifth CCAA title.

WAIPAHU, Hawaii-  The Sonoma State men's tennis season came to an abrupt end on Friday as the Seawolves were eliminated from the NCAA Tournament with a 5-0 defeat at the hands of Hawaii Pacific.  The Seawolves finish the season at 9-13 overall.  The Sea Warriors head to the National Championship finals with a 19-1 record.
