ROHNERT PARK, Calif-  Former Sonoma State relief pitcher John Bonifacini has come to terms on a contract with the Oakland County Cruisers of the independent Frontier League.  He becomes the fourth former Sonoma State player to sign with the Detroit-area franchise.

Bonifacini will join former Sonoma State stars Leo Avila, Ian Bridges, and Zack Pace on the Cruisers.

A native of El Dorado Hills, Bonifacini played two seasons for the Seawolves, 2007 and 2008.  A part of two league champion squads as well as a College World Series participant, Bonifacini went 2-0 as a senior with a 2.95 ERA in 13 innings of work.  He pitched three scoreless innings as a junior in '07.

The Frontier League is a professional, independent baseball organization located in the Midwestern United States.  Though not part of the official minor league system, its level of play is often considered about equal to A-level.
