Track & Field Thrives At CCAA Championships

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif- Katie Prucha and Liz Kain led an impressive Sonoma State showing this weekend at the CCAA Track & Field Championships in San Francisco. Prucha ran a national qualifying and lifetime best in the 400 hurdles of 62.81. Kain cut three seconds from her seasonal best in the 400 meters with a 58.31 to make the final. She ended up sixth in the final.

IRVINE, Calif- Sonoma State's Liz Kain ran a seasonal best in the 200 meters to lead the Seawolves on Saturday at the Steve Scott Invitational on the campus of UC Irvine. Kain was clocked in 26.60 in the 200, then turned around and ran a team-leading 58.3 split on SSU's 4x400 relay team.

CHICO, Calif. - Brean Bettencourt shaved an amazing 11 seconds off her 3,000 personal best Saturday at the Chico Twilight, breaking the 12 minute mark for the first time this season with a 11:54.06 effort.

Seawolves Undeterred By Poor Weather At Woody Wilson
DAVIS, Calif- Not even cold, windy, and rainy conditions could slow down Katie Prucha on Saturday as the freshman won the 400 hurdles at the Woody Wilson Invitational in Davis. Prucha turned in a 64.3, her third best time of the season, despite the miserable conditions.

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif- Jacqui Trenkwalder cut sixteen seconds from her seasonal best at 1500 meters to lead Sonoma State on Saturday at the Mathis Invitational in San Francisco. Trenkwalder sprinted away from the field with 300 meters to go to win her heat in 5:10.53.

Prucha, Bloom Pace Seawolves At Hornet Invitational
SACRAMENTO, Calif- Katie Prucha and Elizabeth Bloom ran to lifetime bests in the 400 hurdles and 400 meters, respectively, to lead the Sonoma State track and field team on Saturday at the Hornet Invitational in Sacramento. They also both appeared on SSU's 4x400 relay team, which ran to a seasonal best.
