LA JOLLA, Calif- Holly Armijo scored three goals and Gina Uliana made a season-high 12 saves helping Sonoma State win its first match of the 2010 season, 8-6, over the University of Redlands on Sunday afternoon, wrapping up the Triton Invitational in which the Seawolves finished 1-3 this past weekend. Sunday afternoon's match was the first against an opponent not ranked in the Women's Collegiate Water Polo Top 20 poll, as the Seawolves move to 1-7 on the year.

LA JOLLA, Calif-  The Sonoma State water polo team lost two games on Saturday afternoon at the Triton Invitational as they continue their slate against some of the top water polo squads in the nation.  The Seawolves lost to 10th-ranked Loyola Marymount (18-3) and to 20th-ranked Maryland (13-7).  Sonoma falls to 0-6 on the season, though all six teams they've played have been ranked in the national poll.

BERKELEY, Calif- For the second day in a row, the Sonoma State women's water polo team faced a pair of nationally-ranked opponents in a very tough opening weekend tournament; unfortunately, the Seawolves had as much success as they had one day earlier. Taking on No. 19 Santa Clara and No. 8 San Jose State, Sonoma State managed just four combined goals on the day, losing 8-1 and 17-3, respectively.

BERKELEY, Calif- Playing in one of the toughest women's water polo tournaments in the country to begin the 2010 season, Sonoma State fell to national division I powerhouses, UC Santa Barbara and California, losing 13-2 and 23-3, respectively, in the NorCal Invitational on Saturday.

ROHNERT PARK, Calif-  Sonoma State women's water polo head coach Coralie Simmons has been named the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches' (ACWPC) Division II National Coach of the Year.  Simmons led the Seawolves to their best-ever finish in the WWPA Championship Tournament in 2009.

ROHNERT PARK, Calif-  Sonoma State women's water polo head coach Coralie Simmons has been selected as an assistant coach on the women's senior national water polo team.  She will help help guide Team USA at the World Championships in Rome this summer.
