STOCKTON, Calif. -- Brandon Lee finished three-under par on Monday, but the Sonoma State men's golf team was stopped just short in its quest to advance to match play at the 2015 CCAA Men's Golf Championship at Brookside Country Club in Stockton.  The Seawolves ended up just two strokes back of the final qualifier, Cal State East Bay, finishing fifth in the field of eight.

Chico State, Cal State Monterey Bay, and Cal State Stanislaus, in addition to Cal State East Bay, will play for the CCAA title on Tuesday.

Despite the early exit from the conference tournament, the Seawolves still look good in terms of selection for the NCAA Men's Golf Regional, as they were ranked fifth in last week's regional poll.  The regional field will be announced on the NCAA Selection Show, Friday, April 24th at 1:00 pm PDT.

The Seawolves finished at even-par for the tournament.  Their 285 in round two was their lowest team score of the year.  Their 291 in round one was tied for third.

Lee was the Seawolves' top performer on Monday, shooting 70-71--141 to finish ninth, three strokes off individual medalist Alistair Docherty of Chico.  Eric Ash was right at Lee's heels, shooting a 1-under 74-69--143 to finish 12th.

The Seawolves' card was rounded out with fine performances from Nicolas Daniels (73-72--145) in 18th, Justin Shluker (76-73--149) in 31st, and Kenny Maroney (74-78--152) in 36th.
