ROHNERT PARK, Calif- For the second consecutive season, senior
Lindsay Catton has been named to the Daktronics Division II Women's Soccer All-America Honorable Mention Team. It was announced late last week. The award adds to her already impressive collegiate resume that includes two Daktronics NCAA Division II West Region Women's Soccer First Team accolades and a couple of NSCAA all-region awards.
Last season, Catton became the first women's soccer player since 2000 to earn All-America status and she followed up a stellar junior season with an impressive senior campaign in 2009. She scored five goals, including two successful penalty kicks while anchoring the defense. She was named to the All-California Collegiate Athletic Association First Team in 2009 for the second time in as many years and also earned NSCAA and Daktronics All-West Region honors for the second straight season.
Three other players from the CCAA joined Catton on the All-America team this season. Cal State L.A.'s Liz Franco (Third Team) and Amanda Matthews (Honorable Mention) as well as Cal State Dominguez Hills' Paige Peel (Honorable Mention).
The Seawolves finished the season 8-9-3 overall and 6-7-3 in conference play.
