VENTURA, Calif- The Sonoma State men's tennis team stepped away from team competition to take part in the prestigious Ojai Valley Tennis Tournament in Southern California.
Connor Olson made it the farthest, advancing to the tournament's semifinal round before bowing out..

In the quarterfinals,
Connor Olson defeated his opponent, Ronald Chow of Azusa Pacific, in an exhausting two and a half hour match. The Seawolf sophomore won 6-4, 1-6, 7-5.
Andy Muesse dropped his quarterfinal match to a very tough opponent, German Matthjis Bollsius of Azusa Pacific by a score of 6-4, 6-0.
In the semifinals, Olson was defeated by Brazilian Fabio Silva of Fresno Pacific, 6-3, 6-2.
Friday
Jeff Stollberg kicked things off with a tough loss to Kyle Godfrey of Westmont. Stollberg lost 6-7, 6-2, 6-3.
Connor Olson rallied back from one set down to pick up the Seawolves' first win of the day. The sophomore won in three sets, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, against Joel Meyers of Pt. Loma Nazarene. Olson easily won his his second round match, 6-2, 6-1 which sets up a showdown with Ronald chow of Azusa Pacific tomorrow.
Andy Muesse survived a tough first round match with Augusto Elias of Concordia. Down a match point, Muesse came back to win 5-7, 7-5, 6-3. Muesse won in the second round to head into tomorrow's action with a pair of wins under his belt.
Doubles Action:
Connor Olson and
Logan Bailey ran into the No. 1 seed in the tournament, Matt Caroll and Joli Vicente of Fresno Pacific. After a hard fought match, Olson and Bailey fell 8-3.
Playing as the No. 2 seed,
Brett McNulty and
Andy Muesse were upset by Daniel Ndlea and Chris Nguyen of Concordia.
The Seawolves will now re-group to take on Hawaii Pacific in an NCAA Tournament match.
