TURLOCK, Calif- Just one hour after being shut out by Grand Canyon, 5-0, Sonoma State bounced back and exploded for seven runs in the third inning and three more in the fourth to defeat CCAA-rival Cal State Stanislaus 11-3, salvaging a split on opening day of the Best of the West Invitational at Turlock. As the Seawolves start the 2010 season 1-1, the Warriors also split on Friday, moving their record to 1-2-1.

ROHNERT PARK, Calif-  New head coach Jennifer Bridges is proud to announce the signing of four student-athletes for the Sonoma State University softball program.  Ciara Becerril, Rachel Gaber, Megan Koniezcka, and Ashley Osier have all signed National Letters of Intent to join the Seawolves for the 2010-11 season.

ROHNERT PARK, Calif-  Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Bill Fusco announced on Monday the hiring of Jennifer Bridges as head coach of the Sonoma State University softball program.  Bridges comes to the Seawolves from Whittier College, where she spent the last two seasons as head coach.

ROHNERT PARK, Calif-  Sonoma State head softball coach Jaime Wallin has resigned to assume head softball coaching duties at Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania.  Wallin spent four years as coach of the Seawolves.

ROHNERT PARK, Calif-  Lindsay Emmel added another All-Region award on Wednesday to her already impressive post-season awards haul.  This time, Emmel has been selected to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association's (NFCA) All-West Region team.

ROHNERT PARK, Calif-  Sonoma State senior Lindsay Emmel has been named the Daktronics West Region Pitcher of the Year, it was announced Wednesday after a vote by the region's Sports Information Directors.  Also the CCAA Pitcher of the Year, Emmel was joined on the First Team All-Region squad by second baseman Kayla Ledford.
