Women's Hoops Closes Out 2014-15 Season With Loss At CSULA

LOS ANGELES -- The Sonoma State women's basketball team ushered out the 2014-15 season in disappointing fashion as they lost to Cal State L.A. 67-39 on Saturday night in the Eagles Nest. The Seawolves end their season with records of 4-18 in the CCAA and 6-20 overall. The Golden Eagles end their season with a conference record of 10-12 and 11-15 overall.

The Seawolves hung around early and went to halftime down by a manageable 33-21 deficit. The second half, however, is where the game got away from the Seawolves. Over the course of the second half, the Golden Eagles slowly increased their 12-point halftime lead to the game-high 28 points that ended up being the final margin.

The Golden Eagles shot 39.3% (24-61) to the Seawolves 26.6% (17-64) from the field. The Golden Eagles also won the battle of the boards by a 57-36 margin.

Madison Burroughs led the Seawolves with 12 points. The talented freshman also had five rebounds and three steals. Hannah Sourek and Carly Gill each had team-high seven rebounds. The seven rebounds by Gill was a new career-high. Jessica Mitz had seven points.

Chiara Dimarco led the Golden Eagles with 13 points. Aiwekhoe Okungbowa had 12 points.
