Jaime Wallin
Head Coach

Jaime Wallin enters her third season as the head softball coach at Sonoma State University in 2008.
In 2007, the Seawolves enjoyed their most successful season in years as Wallin led the team to the NCAA West Regionals for the first time since 1995. The Seawolves also finished with a .500 record for the first time since 2000 and they did it all with a roster consisting of 16 freshmen, two sophomores, and two juniors.
A native of New York, Wallin starred at second and third base at both Pace University (1996-97) and Queens College (1998-99). She helped lead her Queens College team to the 1999 New York Collegiate Athletic Association (NYCAC) championship and was a three-time All-NYCAC selection.
Following her graduation from Queens, she joined the coaching staff for the 2000 season before heading to UC Davis, where she coached from 2001-03. Then a CCAA-member, the Aggies excelled during those years, capturing three consecutive conference championships and the 2003 NCAA Division II National Championship in 2003.
In 2004 and 2005, Wallin assisted Megan T. Bryant at Stony Brook University, a member of the NCAA Division I America East Conference. The Seawolves of Stony Brook reached the finals of the America East Conference Championship Tournament in 2005 with a 13-7 record.
Wallin earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Physiology and Psychology from Queens College in 2000. She received her Master’s Degree in Kinesiology from Sacramento State in 2003.
Josh Musselman
Assistant Coach
Josh Musselman joins the Sonoma State softball coaching staff for the 2008 season. Musselman comes to SSU from conference rival Cal State San Bernardino, where he was in charge of an offense that set six school records.
Musselman, originally from Los Alamitos, brings a solid coaching background to the Seawolves. He had stints at Louisville High School, Santa Paula High School, Fullerton High School, and Cal Baptist before heading to Cal State San Bernardino prior to the 2006 season.
Musselman earned his B.A. in Liberal Studies from Antioch University in Los Angeles. He lives in Sebastopol with his girlfriend, Amy.
Mandy Loushin
Assistant Coach
Mandy Loushin returns for her second season on the Sonoma State coaching staff in '08.
Loushin graduated from Iowa State University in 2001 after transferring from the University of Utah where she played one season. She accepted full athletic scholarships to both universities. In 1998 Loushin was named the team’s Most Valuable Player and she threw a no-hitter against Missouri in the first round of the Big XII Tournament.
A graduate of Amador Valley High School in Pleasanton, Calif, Loushin participated in varsity volleyball for four years and varsity basketball for two years as well as four years of varsity softball. Some of her high school highlights include pitching every inning of a 32-inning game, pitching five consecutive no-hitters and being named to the All-County Team.
At the club level Loushin has seen success as well. She pitched two club teams, the Runnin’ Rebels and the Southern California Athletics, to top-five finishes at the ASA National Tournament. She pitched the Runnin’ Rebels to a fifth place finish at the ASA Nationals in 1995 then in 1997 pitched the Southern California Athletics to a third place finish.
Loushin was the assistant softball coach for Rodriguez High School from 2002-2005. She also coached the Runnin’ Rebels Gold squad. In her spare time, Loushin teaches private pitching lessons to up-and-coming young pitchers.
Loushin will be working exclusively with the SSU pitching staff.
Erika Campbell
Assistant Coach
Erika Campbell returns for her second season as a member of the Sonoma State coaching staff.
Campbell transferred to Sonoma State for the 2005 season from Cuesta Community College. She was a constant presence in the Seawolf lineup as she started and played in 108 of SSU’s 110 games in her two-year career.
Her impact on the SSU record book is noticeable. For her career, Campbell ranks seventh all-time in stolen bases (45) and sixth in triples (8). She also has put up some strong single season marks. In stolen bases she ranks sixth (25 in 2006) and ninth (20 in 2005), for runs she ranks sixth (39 in 2006) and triples she ranks third (8 in 2005). Last season she set the record for most stolen bases in a game with four against Western Washington.
Campbell is assisting the team while finishing up her undergraduate degree. She will work with the team on offense and defense as well as concentrating on field maintenance.
Mike Coate
Volunteer Assistant Coach
Mike Coate joins the Seawolves for the 2008 season as volunteer assistant coach.
Carrie Cheadle
Team Psychologist
Carrie Cheadle is Sonoma State softball’s sport psychology consultant.
She received her B.A. in Psychology at Sonoma State University and her M.A. in Sport Psychology at John F. Kennedy University. Carrie has a private practice in Northern California consulting with teams, organizations, and individual athletes, helping to improve performance through increasing self-awareness and strengthening mental skills.
She has worked with athletes of all ages and abilities, from youth and recreational to collegiate and professional. She has worked with athletes and teams in sports such as skiing, snowboarding, triathlon, running, softball, baseball, mountain biking, soccer, and tennis.
She is a member of the Association for the Applied Advancement of Sport Psychology (AAASP) and a co-founding member of The California Center for Sport Performance (CCSP).
