Rohnert Park, CA - Last week Sonoma State's faculty athletic representative and Kinesiology Department Chair, Dr. Steven Winter, came out with the athletics department and team GPA's for our 2019-20 Seawolf student-athletes. During the 2019-20 academic year, the Seawolves posted a 3.22 overall GPA amongst all 14 Seawolf sports teams! Rohnert Park, CA - This afternoon the PacWest released the 2019-20 academic team where 6 Seawolves from the men's and women's tennis teams were selected for their performance on and off the court. First year head coach Jose Hilla kept his winning streak alive Friday morning with a gritty win over a competitive and hsitoric American River College. Coach Hilla explained in his pot game interview that American River has a terrific coach who does aan amaxing job with his program. Rohnert Park, CA - Entering the weekend for Sonoma State athletics we have 5 different sports in action including baseball, softball, water polo, men's and women's basketball, and men's and women's tennis! Softball and baseball are kicking off the start to their seasons as softball travels to Las Vegas for the Desert Stinger Softball Tournament and baseball will head into to Fresno to take on the Sunbirds for a Friday/Saturday-3 game series. Softball finished 4th in the CCAA the season prior and won 4 games in 4 days to win the conference tournament. They again were ranked 4th in the preseason coaches poll and will have a good collection of young talent and quality returners to once again make a run at the CCAA title and possible back to back NCAA appearances. Baseball finished the season just outside the top 6 for the end of the season conference tournament and were an even .500 on the year. With some key starters and a competitive group of transfers coach John Goelz and the Seawolves look to get over the hump and get into the CCAA tournament.
