All-Academic Award Recipients For 2013-14 Year Announced

ROHNERT PARK -- With another successful year in the books for the student-athletes at Sonoma State University, the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is proud to announce that 62 Seawolves earned All-Academic honors by their respective conferences for the 2013-14 school year.

In addition, 12 other student-athletes that were not eligible for conference awards and/or compete on a team not affiliated with a conference, earned Academic Distinction by SSU for having a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher.  With an overall total of 74 Seawolves earning academic honors, it is an increase from last year's tally of 64.

The California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) placed 44 Seawolves on its All-Academic list, the Pacific West Conference named 14 men's and women's tennis student-athletes and the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) recognized four women's water polo members for academic excellence.

The student-athletes that make up the Sonoma State athletics department as a whole combined to earn a 3.030 GPA for the 2013-14 academic year, up from a 2.957 GPA in 2012-13.  Other noteworthy academic statistics:
