CORAL SPRINGS, Fla- After a standout freshman season in which she established a school record for stroke average,
Spencer Heller has been named to the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) All-West Region team.
Heller becomes the second golfer in the three-year existence of Sonoma State women's golf to earn All-Region honors.
Brittany Carrera was recognized in 2009.
Heller, a native of Turlock, finished in the top ten at 11 of her 13 competitions in 2009-10. Highlights included individual medalist honors at the Pioneer Shootout, runner-up finishes at the Dominican Invitational and NCAA West Regional, as well as a tenth place finish in the NCAA Division II Championship.
Sporting a cumulative record of 660-92 (golfers defeated-golfers defeated by) in tournaments this season, Heller broke Carrera's school record with a stroke average of 77.2. She also tied the single-round record with a 69 at the Dominican Invitational.
