Last season, SSU headed into the final round of 18 just nine strokes back of the leader, CCAA-rival Cal State San Bernardino at Blaine, Wash. This season, the Seawolves are trailing CCAA-rival Chico State and are eight strokes out of second place, currently held by Florida Southern.
Todd followed up an even-par 72 on Wednesday with a 74 on Thursday, giving him a 228 for the tournament.
Jeremy Wendelken fired a 75 and
Patrick Bauer was one stroke behind him at 76.
Alex Marry returned to competition after sitting out Wednesday's round due to illness to card a 78.
Ryan Carter shot an 80 in the third round on Thursday.
Sonoma State will tee off on Friday morning to defend its national title on Friday.
