VALLEJO, Calif-  Spencer Heller took individual medalist honors on Tuesday afternoon to lead the Sonoma State women's golf team to a commanding 16-stroke victory at the Cal State East Bay Pioneer Shootout at Hiddenbrooke Golf Course in Vallejo.  Heller shot a career-best one-over 73 in round two to help the Seawolves capture the trophy in their second event of the spring season.

Tuesday marked the second straight day the Seawolves carded the lowest round.  Their 328 on Monday gave them an eight-stroke lead, setting up a Tuesday in which they were able to cruise to victory with a 310.

Heller, a freshman from Turlock, shot 79 on Monday and a 73 on Tuesday to finish at 152.  Her second round 73 tied for the best round of the tournament and it marked a career-best.  Heller joins Brittany Carrera and Chelsa Helget as the third member of the Sonoma State women's golf team to win a tournament.

Tara Mortimeyer finished eighth at 83-77--160.  She was followed by Carrera (85-78--163) in 11th, Tess Russell (81-88--169) in 16th, and Helget (92-82--174) in 22nd.
