ROHNERT PARK, Calif- With rain falling in the Sonoma Valley and more in the forecast on Friday, the highly-anticipated softball series between Sonoma State and Cal State Monterey Bay has been shifted to Saturday and Sunday. Saturday's doubleheader will start at 1 p.m. and the Seawolves and Otters will wrap up their four-game series on Sunday with a twinbill, beginning at Noon.

With identical 10-2 records in the California Collegiate Athletic Association standings, Sonoma State and Cal State Monterey Bay, who is ranked 18th in this week's National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) poll, are looking to grab sole possession of first place in the conference.

The Seawolves (15-4, 10-2 CCAA), who are off to their best start ever and are receiving votes in the national poll, lead the CCAA in team batting average (.342), slugging percentage (.555), on-base percentage (.408), runs scored (113), hits (178), runs batted in (108), doubles (37), home runs (22), total bases (289), opposing batting average (.223), caught stealing by (8) and wins (15).

The 22 home runs hit by Sonoma State players this season is on pace to shatter the program's season record of 24, set back in 2007.

LeeAnn Stroud leads the conference in batting average (.488) and slugging percentage (.860), pitcher Samantha Lipperd is tops in wins (8) and Julianne Martinez is second in ERA (1.52).

If you can't make the games on Saturday and Sunday, be sure to tune into the Seawolf Sports Network where Gary Day and Tyler Lobe will call the action in a live audio broadcast from the Seawolf Softball Field.
