David Adler did not commit a single error this season
ROHNERT PARK, Calif- Sonoma State senior David Adler has been named the ABCA National Defensive Player of the Year. The second baseman had an absolutely phenomenal season, committing no errors in 219 defensive chances in 2008.
Adler committed a very respectable 11 errors as a junior in 2007 for a .953 fielding percentage. However, his 2008 numbers are simply unheard of for a middle infielder: 91 putouts, 128 assists, and zero errors.

In addition to his fine defensive play, Adler had a strong offensive post-season to lift his batting average to .337. He started 48 games and struck out just nine times in 172 at bats this season.
